Ianās Story
My first book, Quarton: The Bridge, was first published in 2019. The first in the sci-fi Quarton Trilogy, it sets the scene for a battle for control of the quartons, building blocks to a bridge which spans the planet Garial and Earth. The remaining books in the series - The Coding and The Payback - followed in 2020 and 2021, and have attracted young adult and adult readers from all over the world.
I have also published 4 books in the Maggie Matheson Collection ā a cosy mystery series about an octogenarian grandmother. In book 1, The Senior Spy, Maggie is called back into the Service to deal with cybercrime, something she knows nothing about. Regardless, it wonāt stop her giving it a cracking-good go!
My more recent published books are for middle grade readers: 2 sci-fi books, Shoal and Out of Time and a fantasy, The Wrath of Luctos. There are also two compilations of 100-word stories, written by me and other contributors to Colne Radioā Big Bag of Onions.
All my books can be found via this link here.
I am particularly proud of Saddle Sore, a comedy play I co-wrote with Kevin Topple to help raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer. The play is having its third run this summer (2026).
As a former primary school teacher, I have combined my love of learning and writing to deliver talks in various schools around Essex and Suffolk, aimed at inspiring children to write. I write blogs ā about anything and everything, usually with a light-hearted slant ā and have often appeared on BBC Essex reading and discussing my work.
I am currently working on combining my love of sci-fi and comedy to produce something hilarious set in the multiverse.
I was born - and still live - in one tiny corner of the Multiverse called Colchester in Essex. Threatening to take me away from my laptop is a list of DIY jobs which I do not have the skill, or desire, to complete. What threatens and actually takes me away from my laptop are my gorgeous grandchildren. I have of course, written a book for them. Watch this spaceā¦
